Dose-dosenang wheelchairs na binili noong panahon ni PNoy, nakatambak sa opisina ng PhilPost



A concerned citizen reported about what appears to be dozens of wheelchairs he found left unattended at the Philippine Postal Corporation office in Quezon City.



According to netizen named Rommel Reodica, he saw those tons of dirty boxes and wheelchairs dumped at the said office.



In an exclusive interview with GMA, Roedica said, “Naglalakad ako sa compound, meron akong nakitang mga boxes—puro wheelchair. Tapos sabi ko bakit kaya ang dami tapos ang dudumi.”



He said that the guard explained to him that those wheelchairs are under the custody of Department of Health and was just placed in PhilPost office because there was no space available in their office.



“Sabi nung isang guard, ‘Sir kasi ano ‘yan, dinala dito ‘yan ng DOH. Dito muna pinakisuyo kasi wala na yatang space sa office nila sa DOH…’ ‘Yung concern ko lang, ‘yung wheelchair, maraming nasasayang, maraming nangangailangan. Sana ma-distribute,” he said.

Reodica cleared that he is not blaming any administration for this matter; he is just a concerned citizen who is after the taxes they pay.

Meanwhile, former DOH Secretary Garin explained that those wheelchairs were acquired for senior citizens and persons with disabilities and the delivery happened during the transition of Aquino and Duterte administration.

She added that those wheelchairs should have been distributed already. Garin also said that she will coordinate with the current officials in DOH to check the said wheelchairs stocked at PhilPost office.



Meanwhile, DOH Officer-in-charge Herminigildo Valle said they will look into this matter immediately.
